Paralegal

• Work as part of our New Ways of Working (NWOW) pilot team on live fitness to practise investigations
• Help design and refine the future of our casework processes
• Support Case Owners with case progression, including interviewing witnesses, drafting interview plans, drafting witness statements and drafting case completion reports throughout the lifecycle of investigations
• Ensure cases progress efficiently and in line with agreed standards
• Contribute to and take ownership of improvements to investigation processes and procedures

Compliance

• The Panel Performance and Compliance Manager will play a key role in supporting the Panel Services Manager deliver and operationalise key activities for the Panel Support Team and the independent panel members and legal assessors who sit on our panels (circa 600 people).
• They will be responsible for working with colleagues across the Professional Regulation directorate and the wider organisation to implement key changes for activities.
• They will also contribute to the improvements of the quality of decisions made at hearings by overseeing the performance management framework for panel members and legal assessors and work closely with the Panel Training Manager to input into the annual panel member training programme.
• They will provide support to the Panel Services Manager in the management of contracts between the NMC and panel members and legal assessors.
• They will provide support to the Panel Support Team by playing a lead role in the design and delivery of a communications strategy for panel members and legal assessors.

Panel Performance and Compliance Manager

• Lead the NMC’s strategic engagement with the PSA, acting as the first point of contact across the organisation.
• Guide senior leaders and working leads to strengthen performance against the Standards of Good Regulation.
• Oversee assurance processes and champion organisational learning.
• Manage a team of four and lead critical review groups.
• Deliver innovative approaches to analysing and reporting learning.
• Influence change and embed a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement.
• Help reduce recurrence, mitigate risk, and ensure the NMC delivers safe, effective and fair outcomes.
