About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Our investigation team handles Fitness to Practise cases.
Manage and progress complex fitness to practise investigations concerning nurses and midwives, balancing fairness, compassion and public protection.
Gather, analyse and assess evidence to determine whether a nurse or midwife is safe to practise and whether there are risks that need to be addressed.
Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including nurses, midwives, patients, families, witnesses and representatives.
Work closely with colleagues and specialist professionals to ensure investigations are progressed effectively and risks are identified and managed appropriately.
Make thoughtful, evidence-based decisions while ensuring people are treated with empathy and respect throughout the process.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience managing complex, sensitive or high-risk casework or investigations within a regulated, legal or policy-driven environment.
Ability to plan, manage and prioritise a varied caseload while meeting deadlines, quality standards and key performance indicators.
Ability to analyse complex and high-volume information, identify key risks and make evidence-based decisions.
Experience conducting interviews, gathering evidence and producing high-quality written reports or statements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally and empathetically with a wide range of stakeholders.
