About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Our investigation team handles Fitness to Practise cases.
  • Manage and progress complex fitness to practise investigations concerning nurses and midwives, balancing fairness, compassion and public protection.
  • Gather, analyse and assess evidence to determine whether a nurse or midwife is safe to practise and whether there are risks that need to be addressed.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including nurses, midwives, patients, families, witnesses and representatives.
  • Work closely with colleagues and specialist professionals to ensure investigations are progressed effectively and risks are identified and managed appropriately.
  • Make thoughtful, evidence-based decisions while ensuring people are treated with empathy and respect throughout the process.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience managing complex, sensitive or high-risk casework or investigations within a regulated, legal or policy-driven environment.
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritise a varied caseload while meeting deadlines, quality standards and key performance indicators.
  • Ability to analyse complex and high-volume information, identify key risks and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Experience conducting interviews, gathering evidence and producing high-quality written reports or statements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally and empathetically with a wide range of stakeholders.
