Lead a specialized team of data professionals and provide day-to-day strategic direction of data governance activities
Manage overall data governance team/functions for the business, including Data Governance and/or Data Management roles and activities
Ensure integrated approach with other business governance and control areas, broader organization, and enterprise control functions
Appointed as a Data Steward providing oversight and challenge for data-related activities and interfacing with executive and functional stakeholders
Partner with Technology and SMEs to drive implementation of the business' data strategy for medium to high complexity data environments/initiatives
Accountable for delivery of activities within the business data strategy and oversee large/highly complex reporting functions
Provide coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, and executives
Manage discipline and strategy for respective areas while aligning to enterprise best practices
Act as strategic partner to leadership on portfolio and financials, identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities
Facilitate strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences, producing roadmaps and frameworks
Set operational team direction, collaborate to execute common goals, and focus on long-range planning
Establish LOB framework and guidance for identification of critical data and critical data elements
Lead governance and oversight of LOB data management activities including metadata, data quality, data retention and disposition
Establish consistent approach to data issue management and ensure timely resolution and prioritization of data issues
Contribute to strategic direction of data governance/management and support Segment Data Council
Provide input and direction to complex enterprise or cross-function projects as a data governance expert
Plan, lead and manage diverse activities requiring alignment across multiple areas, including socialization and training of LOB data governance community
Partner with business to prepare for internal/regulatory data-related requests and develop reporting to inform on data risk
Steward data according to Enterprise Data Policy, Standards and Strategy; lead relationships with corporate/control functions to ensure regulatory alignment
Identify, mitigate and report risk issues, ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, and oversee remediation plans
Maintain a culture of risk management and control and contribute to financial/resource planning for the LOB
Requirements
Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 10+ years relevant experience
Advanced knowledge of data governance/data management practices, enterprise data policy, standards & strategy
Advanced knowledge of M&A due diligence process, business data strategy, data risk management, and data life cycle management
Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
Skill in managing budgets and resource allocation
Skill in mentoring, coaching and performance management
Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program/project activities
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
Ability handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership
Ability to forecast initiatives and demand in order to develop annual strategic plan
