About the role
- Provide people management leadership: hire talent, set goals, develop staff, manage performance and compensation, handle disciplinary actions
- Oversee and lead a complex function managing significant risk and scope while growing talent and capabilities
- Provide coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business partners and executives
- Manage discipline and strategy for liquidity risk areas, aligning to enterprise best practices
- Serve as strategic partner on portfolio and financial management; anticipate trends and identify operational efficiencies
- Facilitate strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences; develop roadmaps and deliverables
- Set operational team direction and collaborate to execute common goals; focus on longer-range planning (12+ months)
- Lead quantitative analysis and processes to ensure maturity commensurate with TD’s business complexity
- Develop stress testing methodologies based on customer and market behavior in acute stress scenarios
- Develop liquidity strategies to optimize TD US’s liquidity profile
- Lead establishment of cashflow forecasting, contingency planning, early warning indicators, intraday risks and limits
- Coordinate Bank representation to 2nd LoD auditors and regulators and participate on internal/external committees
- Work with product areas to evaluate major products and provide guidance/advice to internal/external partners
- Lead ongoing reviews with 1B, 2nd line and 3rd line functions and execute annual business plans to deliver results
- Identify and manage risks, escalate non-standard/high-risk items, and maintain a culture of risk management and control
- Build and retain an engaged, diverse team; foster continuous learning, feedback, and psychological safety
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience
- People management and leadership experience (hiring, goal setting, performance management, disciplinary actions)
- Expertise in Liquidity Risk Management, stress testing, cashflow forecasting, contingency planning, intraday risks and limits
- Experience coordinating with 2nd Line of Defense auditors and regulators
- Experience working with product areas to evaluate new and existing product offerings
- Ability to act as subject matter expert and strategic partner to leadership; facilitate executive-level discussions
- Strong coaching, mentorship, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks and operational controls
- Ability to set operational direction, develop strategic roadmaps and long-range planning
