💰 $98,000 - $140,000 per year
About the role
- Work within a team environment to execute work plans within budget and schedule
- Support Civil Systems design and/or equipment construction activities and respond to vendor questions and deviation requests
- Review and approve vendor document submittals
- Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing bodies, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues
- Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents
- Support GVH quality requirements, including participation in design reviews
- Manage the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Collaborate with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to successfully deliver New Nuclear Plant Projects
- Have other duties as assigned by Manager and the Senior Engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other Engineering Discipline from an Accredited College or University
- 5 or more years of Civil Engineering Analysis and Design Experience
- Willing to travel up to 25% domestic and international
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information (final offers may be contingent on authorization)
- For Canada: must work two days a week onsite in the Markham, Ontario office and be legally authorized to work in Canada
- For the United States: preferred work location Wilmington, NC; highly qualified US-based remote candidates will be considered
- Ability to pass background investigation (offers conditioned upon successful completion)
- Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and structural/mechanical design fundamentals
- Nuclear industry knowledge/experience (desired)
- Knowledge of BWR core/fuel material behavior (desired)
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Strong facilitation, team building, communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of project management
- Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills
- Honest, straightforward with high level of personal integrity; detail-oriented and accountable for results
- Self-starter willing to take initiative
