About the role

  • Work within a team environment to execute work plans within budget and schedule
  • Support Civil Systems design and/or equipment construction activities and respond to vendor questions and deviation requests
  • Review and approve vendor document submittals
  • Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing bodies, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues
  • Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents
  • Support GVH quality requirements, including participation in design reviews
  • Manage the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Collaborate with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to successfully deliver New Nuclear Plant Projects
  • Have other duties as assigned by Manager and the Senior Engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other Engineering Discipline from an Accredited College or University
  • 5 or more years of Civil Engineering Analysis and Design Experience
  • Willing to travel up to 25% domestic and international
  • Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information (final offers may be contingent on authorization)
  • For Canada: must work two days a week onsite in the Markham, Ontario office and be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • For the United States: preferred work location Wilmington, NC; highly qualified US-based remote candidates will be considered
  • Ability to pass background investigation (offers conditioned upon successful completion)
  • Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and structural/mechanical design fundamentals
  • Nuclear industry knowledge/experience (desired)
  • Knowledge of BWR core/fuel material behavior (desired)
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Strong facilitation, team building, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of project management
  • Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills
  • Honest, straightforward with high level of personal integrity; detail-oriented and accountable for results
  • Self-starter willing to take initiative
