About the role
- Assist Sales Representatives in the sales, promotion and marketing of Stryker products.
- Educate and inform doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel on proper use and maintenance of Stryker products.
- Tailor Stryker’s promotional message based on customer knowledge and advise on product selection.
- Answer customer questions about product functionality and distinguish Stryker products from competitors.
- Adjust time daily to focus on customer and market value; represent Stryker and impact patient care.
- Negotiate price and terms with customers and resolve customer complaints.
- Analyze territory market potential and prioritize call patterns.
- Drive as needed and travel up to 20% with possible overnight stays.
Requirements
- 0-2 years in an outside sales position (medical related fields is preferable).
- B.A. or B.S. degree required.
- Field sales training--In field training.
- Successful completion of in-house product training program.
- Confident communicators; influential and persuasive sales skills.
- Charismatic networking and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to tailor promotional messaging based on customer knowledge.
- Ability to advise on product selection and answer product functionality questions.
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds constantly.
- Must be able to communicate with large groups and telephonically.
- Must be able to use common office equipment (fax, modem, calculator, PC, etc.).
- Up to 20% overnight travel annually.
- Must be able to drive an automobile.
- Must be able to routinely negotiate price and terms of transactions.
- Must be able to readily solve customer complaints and questions.
- Must have command of all products, including functionality, features, and differentiators.
- Must be able to analyze territory market potential and prioritize call patterns.
