About the role

  • Champion smooth bi-weekly payroll runs for nurses and doctors and maintain payroll processes
  • Review and interpret timesheets and approve payroll
  • Calculate, reconcile, and pay superannuation, workers’ compensation, Payroll Tax & PAYG
  • Conduct investigations, prepare reports, and reconcile payroll accounts accurately
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, candidates, and employees
  • Manage and respond to high volumes of candidate queries promptly and professionally
  • Process adjustment payments and handle invoice-related tasks accurately
  • Report to the Finance Director and collaborate with the finance team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a payroll role
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting/Finance or similar (degree-level)
  • Strong experience with Xero
  • Experience with Astute (advantage)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Eagerness to learn and develop career
  • Willingness to collaborate, be team-oriented, and cover other finance roles during leave
  • Ability to use initiative, be self-directed, and work under minimal supervision
  • Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to engage socially within the team
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting stringent deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
