About the role
- Convert client data into customized prosthetic device designs using various software tools
- Lead design review process within the production design team and audit completed custom design files for release to production
- Troubleshoot design-process and production-related challenges and recommend solutions
- Mentor and provide design training to CAD Design Specialist I and assist in problem-solving
- Maintain design templates, document procedures, and participate in continuous improvement projects
- Work autonomously and collaboratively with R&D, Manufacturing, and clinical experts to establish design frameworks and evaluate device fit
- Use calibrated tools to collect measurements from physical casts or utilize CAD to analyze digital scans and scale images
- Transfer CAD files to ERP, manage bill of materials, and ensure product aligns with design
- Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and contribute to a safe working environment
- Communicate design documentation and collaborate with customer-facing departments and stakeholders
Requirements
- Vocation certification or an Associate’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in 3D CAD design systems, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated knowledge of prosthetic design principles
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with GD&T drawing standards
