About the role
- Provide temporary respite care for children and young people
- Plan and organise engaging activities that promote independence and personal development
- Provide personal care and therapeutic support, emotional support, and maintain a clean, safe, nurturing environment
- Monitor and assess the progress and behaviour of children and young people, providing feedback to families and relevant professionals
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to tailor activities and support to individual needs
- Participate in training and professional development to stay updated on best practice
- Engage the community and deliver community-based short break sessions (1:1 and small groups)
Requirements
- Experience within disability support, childcare or family support
- Experience of working in a therapeutic way
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with children, young people, families and other professionals
- Ability to work on your own or as part of a team
- Driving license with access to vehicle (desirable but not essential)
- DBS Enhanced Adult & Children (vetting level required)
