CFO leads Soles4Souls' global finance, HR, legal, and compliance functions.
This role is instrumental in advancing our mission by ensuring financial stability, optimizing resources, and leading a distributed team with excellence.
The CFO will actively collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute our strategic plan, manage global budgets, lead forecasting, oversee audits, and ensure compliance at every level.
The position requires strategic vision, hands-on leadership, and a balance between mission impact and financial rigor.
Travel 6–12 times annually within the U.S. and internationally as needed.
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team in shaping and executing long-term strategy; provide leadership and mentoring to Finance and HR teams; Represent Finance to the Board; Travel 6–12 times annually within the U.S. and internationally as needed.
Financial Stewardship: Ensure strong liquidity and effective cash flow management to maximize mission impact; Lead annual budget development and quarterly forecasting processes in partnership with leadership; Manage investments to optimize returns while safeguarding stability; Deliver timely, accurate, and transparent financial reporting for leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders.
Risk, Compliance & Audit: Oversee risk management and ensure compliance with all domestic and international financial regulations; Direct and coordinate all audits, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion; Maintain and improve systems and internal controls to protect organizational integrity.
Organizational Effectiveness & People Leadership: Foster a culture of accountability and continuous growth by setting high standards for performance and recognizing potential at all levels of the organization; Lead with integrity and excellence, promoting an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives are valued and every team member is empowered to contribute meaningfully; Support the VP, People in attracting, retaining, and developing top talent across the organization; Oversee compensation strategy, benefits, and performance management systems.
Requirements
Passion for mission-driven work and ability to balance social impact with financial discipline
Proven success as a CFO, ideally in a nonprofit or social enterprise with $20–$100M in revenue and 50–200 employees
Expertise in forecasting, risk management, and financial reporting
Strong technical skills with accounting/finance systems (NetSuite and NetSuite Planning & Budgeting strongly preferred; advanced Excel required)
Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights
Demonstrated experience in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
Valid passport and driver’s license
Experience with mergers/acquisitions or business integrations (preferred)
Experience with hybrid nonprofit/for-profit models or social enterprise (strongly preferred)
