About the role
- The Associate Director of Scholarships is responsible for leading the planning, administration, and evaluation of all aspects of the organization’s scholarship program.
- Support scholars, manage key partnerships, coordinate events, and oversee scholarship application and award processes.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for scholars and stakeholders, ensuring program execution aligned with mission and goals.
- Develop and implement annual strategic plan for the scholarship program, set goals, define evaluation methods, and identify process improvements.
- Design and execute annual engagement strategy to support scholars year-round, including virtual and in-person events.
- Monitor program outcomes, produce annual evaluations and reports for leadership, donors, and stakeholders.
- Manage scholarship disbursement process, enrollment verification for 100+ recipients, and process refund requests.
- Oversee and manage program annual budget and financial reporting.
- Prepare and distribute scholarship agreements and documentation to award recipients.
- Collaborate with Social Impact team on scholar development initiatives e.g., Summer Internship Program and SoLa Scholars Ambassador Program.
- Create and maintain scholarship fundraising deck and collateral; collaborate with fundraising team for donor strategies.
- Foster donor-scholar relationships to encourage mentorship, career opportunities, and long-term involvement.
- Lead scholarship components of annual fundraising gala, including student storytelling.
- Maintain and update scholarship section of website biannually; collaborate with communications for social media and reports.
- Design creative program for annual awards ceremony; oversee video production related to scholarship initiatives.
- Administer AwardSpring platform: application setup, review tracking, and technical oversight.
- Serve as primary contact for applicants; collect and manage application materials; lead recruitment and outreach to high schools, college fairs, and community events.
- Coordinate selection process: reviewer assignments, scoring rubrics, and interviews.
- Ensure application guidelines and selection criteria are regularly reviewed and updated.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in scholarship administration, student support services, or educational programming.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with data management systems and online platforms; experience with AwardSpring or similar platforms preferred.
- Experience in fundraising, donor stewardship, or nonprofit communications is a plus.
