About the role

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with PayPal's strategic goals and objectives. Manage the procurement process for goods and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. Conduct category and supplier analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and performance improvement. Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure sourcing strategies meet business needs. Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with agreements and quality standards. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support continuous improvement. Identify and evaluate potential vendors, ensuring they meet PayPal's standards. Implement best practices in procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Prepare and present sourcing reports and recommendations to management, providing insights and analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, supply chain, procurement, finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing/procurement, with direct experience supporting marketing, sales, and related categories (such as merchandising, POS, shopper marketing, PR, media, creative, production, customer data, promotions). Demonstrated success negotiating contracts for marketing or sales services, including agencies, data providers, and event organizers. Deep expertise in category management for marketing and sales spend (e.g., advertising, creative services, sales enablement tools, promotional materials). Strong ability to analyze spend, market trends, consumer data, and supplier dynamics to inform sourcing strategies for sales/marketing initiatives. Proficiency in procurement/sourcing and CRM software used by marketing and sales teams. Knowledge of compliance standards for marketing and sales vendors, such as creative rights, data privacy, and digital media regulations. Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, legal, supply chain, and executive teams. Experience leading negotiations on pricing, service, and quality, with a focus on maximizing ROI for campaigns and sales programs. Capable of driving process improvements, and delivering measurable cost savings and innovation in the marketing/sales procurement space. Strong stakeholder engagement and change management abilities, especially with senior sales and marketing leaders. Expertise building and optimizing supplier relationships with marketing agencies, media partners, promo vendors, sales enablement providers, and data platforms. Skilled at scenario modeling and risk management considering seasonality and campaign lifecycle needs. Demonstrated ability to create and manage sourcing strategies for specific marketing/sales initiatives—such as product launches, event sponsorships, channel promotions, influencer campaigns, and analytics tools. Ability to provide rigorous analysis of spend data and market trends to prioritize and launch sourcing initiatives that support key sales and marketing goals.
