About the role
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and communicate the Distribution Process Safety Management (PSM) Program
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation for emergency situations
- Maintain PSM compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations
- Create, support and implement strategies to establish and improve PSM Compliance
- Manage all aspects of PSM for all Smithfield applicable locations
- Develop, evaluate, recommend and support process and equipment changes
- Establish and assure adherence to PSM auditing schedules, PHA reviews and Mechanical Integrity testing
- Lead root cause analysis and preventive/corrective action follow-up in case of ammonia release
- Assist plants to ensure contractors working on ammonia systems are certified and properly trained
- Develop and maintain PSM related Key Performance Indicators
- Train applicable personnel in PSM.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Manufacturing, Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of PSM management responsibilities in a manufacturing environment
- Previous Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration experience
- Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations with emphasis on PSM
- Extensive knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies, e.g HAZOP, What If
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Positive, proactive, self-directed approach
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Must have the ability to complete required applicable forms in English
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.
