Build, manage and maintain SIGMA’s customer relationships within the Western region
Develop lasting relationships with current and potential customers/prospects for sales and purchasing opportunities within SIGMA Group
Sell solutions/services to new and existing customers and identify purchasing opportunities for equipment and parts
Collect and qualify leads from personal contacts, customer websites, trade shows, phone prospecting and other department leads; determine viability of site visits
Procure used manufacturing and packaging equipment through outright purchase, consignment, brokering, or auctions
Understand SIGMA’s equipment, parts, and buying strategies to provide comprehensive customer solutions
Assess customer needs and recommend optimal equipment or project solutions
Negotiate purchase and sale agreements for equipment and parts
Generate leads for SIGMA Group divisions and identify cross-selling opportunities during site visits
Use SIGMA’s CRM (Insightly) to manage leads, ensure timely follow-ups, and organize client interactions
Meet monthly sales metrics and performance goals
Communicate timely with team members, BDC, and manager
Report to the Director of Business Development and Corporate Sales and collaborate with all divisions
Support the western region (ideal areas near Sacramento, CA and Carson City, NV)
Requirements
5 yrs. experience with food manufacturing equipment and processes
Technical minded, engineer’s mindset with the ability to use critical thinking
Strong customer service focus and background
Demonstrated negotiation and closing experience; preferably B2B environment
Previous success in selling; buying experience a plus
Ability to own the process from start to finish; highly organized and utilizes CRM proficiently (Insightly)
Systems savvy
A learner mentality - constantly absorbing information given
Driven and self-disciplined
College degree required, preferably in a technical discipline
Strong oral and written communication; represents the company in a professional manner
Ability to adapt in a fast changing environment - forward thinking
Travel weekly during the regular work week (Monday through Friday)
Candidate will spend 8-10 weeks at SIGMA Corporate office (Evansville, IN) to learn the business, processes and systems for this position
