About the role
- Implement an integrated plan for product development, coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release
- Monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery and interface with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters as needed
- Review, manage, proactively challenge, and control the status of project programs and budgets
- Manage schedules, prepare status reports, and guide and lead teams to achieve program goals
- Perform issue identification, resolution, and contingency planning
- Work within SNC's Mission Systems Integration directorate focusing on ground-based air defense systems and counter unmanned aircraft systems (CUAS)
- Contribute to development and integration of defense solutions across fielded systems, new developmental contracts, and internal R&D
- Ensure air defense systems meet rigorous performance and reliability standards and integrate various technological components
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in a related field of study
- Typically, 8+ years of progressive technical experience
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practice
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team
- Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, integration
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment
- Preferred: Typically 2-4 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience
- Preferred: Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers
- Preferred: Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management
- Preferred: Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions and test procedure
- Professional Certification in Program Management International (PMI) and/or Program Management Professional (PMP)
- Experience or certification in INCOSE standard
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
