About the role
- Provide project leadership and guidance from project conception through to project delivery; to the customer and to conduct project feedback reviews at the appropriate time
- Development and management of costs with ongoing estimates to completion of projects
- Development, planning and management of the project schedules and payment milestones, while providing contingency planning where required, to ensure a timely delivery
- Managing the contractual scope content ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed
- Risk and Opportunity management; ensuring that all risks and issues are identified and mitigated
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, internal and external, maintaining excellent relations with customers, peers, Engineering, and global teams
- Act as the focus for project-based activities and perform other related duties as assigned or requested
- Focused on the execution of outage activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures
- Ensure projects meet financial/commercial parameters and achieve customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- 8+ years of Project Management experience within the Nuclear Power Generation industry
- Ability to travel 30% annually
- Ability to gain unescorted access to a Nuclear Power facility in the U.S. or Canada
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport
- Ability to work at customer site as required
- P. Eng. Certification (Desired)
- PMP Certification (Desired)
- Experience with Steam Power systems either in a Nuclear, Fossil or Industrial power plant setting (Desired)
- Practical knowledge of GE Vernova products is a plus but not necessity (Desired)
- Attention to detail and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
- Clear thinker, detail oriented, insightful, quantitative, and results oriented
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills for technical and business audiences
- Able and willing to take ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks
- Able to work successfully in a matrix environment, executing multiple assignments and priorities
- Continuous improvement “mindset” with an ability to identify, influence, and implement better ways to execute an activity or process
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and working knowledge of Primavera P6
- Strong verbal, oral and written communication skills and customer focused mindset
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
