About the role
- Lead and mentor a program management team delivering Hardware as a Service (HaaS) products
- Oversee project execution and lead external customer contracts
- Shape the future vision of the company’s quantum offerings working with senior leadership and technical teams
- Strategic leader of detailed schedules, budgets, resource needs, and work plans for complex, multi-faceted hardware R&D programs
- Serve as cross-functional focal for Helios PMO to organize and coordinate with multiple technical and operational teams
- Ensure timely and effective communication of strategy, scope changes, risks, and progress between technical teams, partners, product and program management, and senior leadership through reports, dashboards, and presentations
- Manage and lead senior and junior project engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Lead regular status meetings, project reviews, and end-of-task retrospectives and evolve structure to meet organizational needs
- Perform programmatic goal setting and track milestones and KPIs
- Identify opportunities to accelerate schedule or develop needed technologies
- Work closely with leadership to align hardware R&D initiatives with business strategies and goals
- Own risk and opportunity analysis and management processes related to program planning and follow proper escalation channels
- Travel up to 25% as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- Minimum8+ years’ experience in technical program management
- Must be a U.S. Person defined as U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements, candidates must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Master’s degree in a STEM field (preferred)
- A background in quantum computing, optics and photonics, or experimental physics (preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
- Experience in product development (preferred)
- Experience seeing technology-based projects through the full life cycle including managing schedule, risk, and budget (preferred)
- Prior experience on first-of-its-kind, early technology-based products or projects (preferred)
- Resourcefulness and the ability to predict challenges to proactively head-off obstacles (preferred)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines for others (preferred)
- Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality (preferred)
- Ability to adapt tactics and strategies to meet diverse, early phase, and strong technical projects (preferred)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with experience working with C-suite executives and clients (preferred)
- Proven ability to lead the strategic direction of technical initiatives and drive innovation within the organization (preferred)
