About the role
- Develop and execute comprehensive training programs for new hires and existing sales representatives
- Design engaging training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, workshops, and simulations
- Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions focused on product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry best practices
- Provide ongoing coaching and reinforcement through field visits, role-playing exercises, and performance evaluations
- Ensure sales teams have a deep understanding of product features, benefits, and differentiators
- Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to update training content as new products are launched
- Train sales representatives on competitive positioning and objection-handling strategies
- Educate sales teams on regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical selling practices
- Ensure compliance with industry guidelines (e.g., FDA, HIPAA, AdvaMed)
- Assess training effectiveness through quizzes, assessments, and performance metrics
- Gather feedback from sales teams and leadership to continuously improve training programs
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales training impact
- Partner with sales leadership to identify skill gaps and training needs
- Work with marketing and clinical teams to ensure sales reps can effectively communicate product value to healthcare professionals
- Support sales meetings, conferences, and product launches with targeted training initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- 5+ years in medical device sales, sales training
- Interventional Oncology preferred
- Experience in instructional design, adult learning principles, and training program development
- 5+ years of proven track record successfully training and developing sales professionals
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to translate complex medical and technical information into easy-to-understand concepts
- Proficiency in e-learning tools, CRM systems, and sales enablement platforms
- Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills
- Ability to travel as needed for training sessions and field coaching
