About the role
- Own and execute the editorial strategy aligned to business goals, organic growth, and Self’s mission
- Manage writers, agencies, and vendors and ensure consistent, authoritative brand voice across organic touchpoints
- Produce high-impact content (blogs, guides, landing pages, campaigns, multimedia scripts)
- Create and implement a unified content strategy that addresses SEO, AEO and GEO simultaneously
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product marketing, compliance, creative) to scale production and support acquisition, engagement, and retention
- Conduct in-depth analysis of queries, platforms, competitors, and user intent to inform content strategy
- Track performance metrics, analyze results, and refine strategy to maximize ROI
- Stay current on industry trends, AI/LLM-driven search shifts, and evolving audience behaviors
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in content marketing or editorial leadership, preferably in fintech, financial services, consumer tech or a heavily-regulated industry
- Proven track record of building editorial programs that deliver measurable business results
- Strong storytelling and editorial skills, with ability to simplify complex financial concepts
- Understanding of SEO, digital PR, and emerging AI/LLM search dynamics
- Experience producing and managing multimedia content (video, podcasts, social-first)
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience managing agencies/freelancers
- Strong awareness of content management, publishing, collaboration, and compliance tools to manage content strategy effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excels in a fast-paced environment
- Background in journalism, financial writing, or consumer-tech editorial is helpful but not required
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder (work authorization requirement)
