Operate or learn to operate manufacturing equipment and train others on equipment use
Develop and implement maintenance plans and execute repairs for manufacturing equipment
Identify emerging needs and inefficiencies on the manufacturing floor and work with production engineering to increase efficiency
Assist in work prioritization and triage during peak production periods to maintain workflow efficiency
Support the shipyard’s transition from low-rate to high-volume production by identifying and implementing process and infrastructure changes
Onboard new automated manufacturing assets, collaborating with software and production engineering to improve production-supporting software
Create manufacturing processes in unstructured areas of the operational system
Work directly with software engineering team on buildout of shipyard/production management system
Integrate new technical methods into shipyard capabilities and spearhead adoption of automated manufacturing assets and software enhancements
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus)
Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in the production of complex electromechanical systems
Familiarity with autonomous systems, robotics, or maritime technologies is highly desirable
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to autonomous maritime systems
Ability to operate or learn how to operate manufacturing equipment
Ability to train others on how to use manufacturing equipment
Understands manufacturing equipment maintenance requirements and develops a maintenance plan
Executes repair of manufacturing equipment
Can identify emerging needs on the manufacturing floor and weak/strong spots in equipment and personnel
Assist in work prioritization and triage during peak production periods to maintain workflow efficiency
Support the shipyard’s transition from low-rate to high-volume production and onboard new automated manufacturing assets
