Operate and oversee the engine room and all associated machinery aboard the autonomous surface vessel Marauder
Ensure all marine systems including main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, fuel oil system, lubrication, cooling system, and environmental equipment are maintained and operational
Complete all necessary maintenance on vessel machinery
Oversee all operations in the engine room and be on-call while the vessel is underway to address issues
Manage inventory and ordering of spare parts
Participate in creation and execution of a planned maintenance schedule
Assist in the shipboard execution of mission objectives for Department of Defense operations
Maintain safety and adherence to maritime regulations
Travel up to 50% with projected 28/28 rotation
Requirements
U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or certain asylees/refugees)
Valid U.S. Coast Guard MMC. Chief Engineer STCW 3,000 KW/4,000 HP or more (unlimited)
STCW Basic Training, OICEW
Valid TWIC
USCG STCW Medical Certificate
Valid passport
Proficiency in maritime engineering systems
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Problem-solving abilities and proactive approach
Strong leadership qualities
Must pass background check and USCG/DOT drug testing
Security clearance eligibility preferred
Ability to certify as “fit for work” by demonstrating ability to swim and tread water
Frequently lift, push and carry up to 75 lbs
Ability to operate in marine environments (sun, wind, rain, cold, saltwater spray)
Ability to perform physically demanding work up to 12 hours/day and carry 20 lbs up and down stairs
Job requires up to 50% travel; projected rotation is 28/28
Desired: Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering or similar field
