About the role
- Lead the project team to achieve goals and complete tasks on time and within budget
- Manage all aspects of assigned task orders, including project management, safety, quality, and billing
- Facilitate efficient communication between the client and project team, providing timely updates on revised schedules and project requirements
- Review and participate in weekly meetings to discuss project progress and address any issues
- Ensure adequate resources are allocated to meet project deadlines and budgets
- Coordinate with subcontractors for maintenance and repairs of military fueling systems, including fee negotiations and agreement setups
- Monitor contract budgets, prioritize service orders, and request funding increases as needed
- Anticipate and address budget shortfalls and overages to meet financial goals
- Understand and apply accrual accounting methods related to billing and revenue
- Maintain financial records for maintenance events, including work completed, invoiced, and revenue received
- Review and approve expense reports and time sheets
- Develop and maintain client relationships to encourage repeat business
- Attend task order award/kick-off meetings and schedule initial site visits
- Ensure project team members are informed about the scope of work, schedule, and client requirements
- Conduct regular meetings with government representatives and contractors to discuss scheduled work and resolve issues
- Perform site visits and field audits to ensure quality and safety standards are met
- Prepare responses to contractual issues and maintain knowledge related to training and job responsibilities
- Conduct annual reviews and mentor subordinate staff
Requirements
- Any 4-year college degree
- At least ten (10) years of demonstrated work experience managing federal contracts
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Database, PowerPoint, Project)
- Ability to read and interpret government contract language in Performance Work Statements (PWS)
- USCG Experience preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Strong mathematical skills and understanding of accrual accounting methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Effective conflict resolution and team management skills
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Successful completion of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
- Comply with company drug and alcohol policy
- Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date
