About the role
- Serve as the initial technical point of contact for basic and complex customer issues via phone and email
- Respond to customer requests for technical assistance; manage fast-paced, independent workload
- Provide in-depth technical troubleshooting for Samsara’s SaaS platform, hardware devices, and integrations
- Leverage networking, cloud technologies, and IoT systems knowledge to resolve issues
- Work collaboratively with first-line support, engineering, and product teams to deliver solutions
- Document detailed resolutions, create technical guides, and contribute to the knowledge base
- Mentor junior agents and onboard/train less experienced team members
- Proactively identify trends in customer issues to influence product improvements and optimize support processes
- Deliver professional and clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Champion Samsara’s cultural principles and support continuous improvement and collaboration
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in a technical product support or specialist role (SaaS, IoT, or networking preferred)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS)
- Knowledge of cloud-based architectures and hardware troubleshooting
- Foundational knowledge in Artificial Intelligence
- Demonstrated leadership/mentoring experience and ability to guide junior team members
- Analytical problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple escalations and prioritize workload
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call support
- Strong English communication skills
- (Nice to have) Proficiency in Spanish, French, or German
- (Nice to have) Knowledge of electrical circuits, GPS and telematics
- (Nice to have) Familiarity with networking protocols, APIs, diagnostic tools
- (Nice to have) Scripting experience (Python, Bash)
- (Nice to have) Advanced certifications (CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
- (Nice to have) Experience integrating/troubleshooting third-party applications with APIs and webhooks
