About the role
- Become an expert on Samsara products where IoT, AI, and computer vision meet physical operations
- Articulate to prospects how businesses use Samsara to solve industry problems
- Deliver discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, proof of value implementations, and executive presentations
- Write scripts against Samsara's open API and document them for other SEs
- Enable integration, upsell, and cross-sell by acting as a consultant and trusted subject-matter expert
- Act as liaison between product and sales teams; translate technical feedback and enroll customers in beta programs
- Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare, and execute transactions in rapid sales cycles
- Work across multiple levels of the technology stack
- Run and own pilots from introduction through planning, execution, and handover
- Go on site to run workshops and perform hardware installations
- Build relationships with third-party partners, software providers, systems integrators, and installation partners
- Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles and work with AEs as a team to win new business
- Travel to customer sites up to 50% of the time
Requirements
- 5+ years experience working with customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support capacity
- 3+ years sales experience
- Ability to influence stakeholders based on your technical sales acumen and a solid understanding of business processes and change management
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems
- Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems
- Fluent in German and English
- Great time management and organizational skills to work on multiple accounts and projects at different stages
- Previously worked with Enterprise customers
- Location Germany
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
- Experience with task automation scripting and transferring data between systems using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent language (preferred)
- Experience building solutions leveraging open APIs (preferred)
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including Controller Area Networks (CAN bus) and Power Take Off (PTO) applications (preferred)
- Hobbyist interest in working with electronic systems (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc.) (preferred)
- Consistent track record of success selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles (preferred)
- Knowledge of MEDDIC and/or Value Selling sales concepts (preferred)
- Experience working with product teams internally and feature request processes (preferred)
- Experience working with DPOs and Workers councils and addressing data privacy concerns (preferred)
