About the role
- Sell S&P Global Market Intelligence data & research products (desktop, bulk delivery, API) to financial institutions
- Acquire new logos and overall responsibility for New Business Sales
- Build a territory plan and work with Sales Associate and Prospecting team to engage prospects
- Proactively prospect, diagnose client requirements, and define pricing frameworks
- Combine solutions across the organization and collaborate with other Sales Specialists and business units
- Stay current with industry news and develop marketing/campaign initiatives to attract prospects
- Work with Product Managers, Product Specialists, Application Specialists and Sales Education to support objectives
- Negotiate contract terms and pricing structures
- Uncover cross-divisional synergies and contribute to product innovation
- Maintain focused daily sales activity, pipelines and systems-based workflow (i.e. Salesforce.com)
Requirements
- 1-3+ Years of experience as an Individual Contributor (Financial Services Industry roles Preferred)
- Independent, self-starter capable of working without close supervision or daily guidance
- Strong business acumen with relevant industry experience and a consistent record in consultative sales
- Team player with an ability to collaborate across functional and geographic boundaries
- Experience selling complex data and/or technology solutions to financial institutions
- Confidence in approaching new markets, navigating, and owning a territory and dealing with C-Level executives
- Strong communication, organization, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Experience with Salesforce.com
