About the role

  • Support the Index Data Acquisition & Content Subscriptions (iDACS) team within S&P Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI).
  • Manage team through the entire acquisition process, from initial contact to contract execution and content delivery.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with third-party exchange and content providers; manage source selection, internal communication, contractual review, and internal processes.
  • Negotiate optimal terms for internal and commercial (derived and redistribution) use cases.
  • Maintain relationships with exchange partners, content providers and market data/subscription vendors.
  • Promote best practices globally and identify opportunities to optimize and leverage data sources across the organization.
  • Analyze data rights and communicate risks/obligations associated with vendor agreements for custom and branded indices.
  • Manage global data rights, review agreements for legal and financial obligations, and inform stakeholders of vendor restrictions.
  • Create vendor summaries for high profile/strategic relationships and maintain up-to-date vendor documentation and contracts.
  • Update internal systems, conduct gap analysis reviews, perform vendor risk assessments and vendor performance scorecards.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance exercises and vendor audits.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in vendor management, contract review and/or vendor negotiation, including all relevant business, price, and technical terms
  • First-class communication skills including the ability to speak effectively in small and large group settings, and to write clearly in internal memos, presentations, and e-mails
  • Ability to use market data expertise and prior experience to influence stakeholders across the organization
  • Very high attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Flexible and accommodating work ethic in an ever-changing work schedule
  • Ability to work both in a team setting and independently
  • Solution-oriented, self-starter and highly motivated
  • 10+ years in the financial services industry or similar professional work environment
  • 10+ years in market data, strategic sourcing, procurement and/or contracting
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • Experience in AI, Private Markets, Defi data sourcing preferred
  • Experience using FITS or MDM preferred
  • FISD FIA certification preferred, but not required
