- Job Summary: Ruggable is seeking a passionate, talented and experienced Director of Textile Design to join our growing team. As a key member of our design leadership team, you will be responsible for helping to maintain a strong culture based on creative excellence and achievement of strategic objectives. We are looking for expertise in textile design and development for home goods , focused on but not limited to Rugs. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of building up our design capability in non-printed products.
- This role is based in our LA Design + Product Studio with a hybrid schedule (office/remote).
- What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team of designers responsible for Seasonal & Core product that aligns with the Ruggable Design Roadmap and Brand Vision
- Collaborate with the VP of Design to develop a robust portfolio of products for the home that enhance our brand aesthetic and customer appeal
- Work closely with our Product + Leadership team to assess new opportunities
- Create visually compelling mood boards to inspire new products
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure design consistency and alignment with brand standards
- Work closely with Design + PD team to build relationships, develop unique rug collections, and ensure timely delivery.
- Oversee the creation of production-ready textile design files and assess strike-offs for color and design accuracy
- Manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, identify potential risks, and communicate project updates effectively
- Provide strategic guidance and project management for both short-term and long-term design initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Design or a related field
- 8-10 years of experience in a senior design role, preferably within the home furnishings or textile industry
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite
- Experience leading, motivating and mentoring high performance teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Proven track record of leading design projects from initial concept to completion
- Ability to work independently and proactively to overcome obstacles
- Data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Benefits
- $150,000 - $160,000 per year base salary
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
