About the role
- Develop and deliver enterprise level solution architecture across RTX businesses and corporate functions.
- Shape IT solutions across core enterprise applications and business-specific capabilities spanning Raytheon, Pratt & Whitney, and Collins Aerospace.
- Drive vision, strategy, anticipate problems, lead risk mitigation and deliver best practice solutions for the Information Technology function.
- Participate in establishing enterprise-wide IT policy and setting technology standards across multiple IT domains.
- Provide mentorship for the architecture community and guidance to solutions architecture teams.
- Stay continuously aware of business, technical, applications, information management, security and infrastructure best practices and act as a consultant to develop creative solutions.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously with a focus on developing and implementing solution architecture.
- Lead and foster enterprise-wide collaboration to leverage IT solutions architecture for competitive advantage.
- Integrate emerging technologies into application architecture to reduce complexity.
- Define logical reference architectures, best practices, patterns, maturity models, and roadmaps.
- Engage and communicate with senior functional leaders, internal partners, external vendors, and business partners.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Enterprise Architecture or related Computer Science field with at least 10 years of experience OR Master's degree with 8 years of experience in information technology, systems architecture, systems design, and/or systems engineering.
- Proven track record in developing, delivering, and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
- Understanding and application of architecture frameworks and methods (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF, SAFe Architect); certifications are highly advantageous.
- Experience in migrating on-premises applications/infrastructure to the cloud (AWS/Azure).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to debate, negotiate, influence, and collaborate effectively within a complex enterprise environment.
- Experience working with RTX business units, functional organizations, and enterprise services is a plus.
- Preferred: Architecture certifications (e.g. RTX Certified Architect - RCAP, TOGAF, Zachman); ITIL Certification; Project Management Experience & Certification (e.g. PMP).
