About the role
- Provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance
- Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
- Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
- Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
- Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
- Manage non-conforming products
- Drive root cause and corrective action
- Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
- Drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers
- Initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability
- Ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate
- Collaborate with and mentor teammates
- Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
- Support domestic travel as needed (~25%)
- Participate in all phases of product life cycles: proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives through production implementation
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing & quality systems or technical supplier management
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Security Clearance: DoD Clearance: Secret
- Experience with Manufacturing Engineering in a manufacturing / factory environment is strongly preferred (preferred)
- Active DoD clearance (preferred)
- Experience with commodities: CCA/PWB/Flex, Antenna/Power/Networks, Cables/Harnesses/Integrated Assy/Electronic Components, RF, or Optics (preferred)
- Experience performing supplier assessments (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to support domestic travel as needed (Approx 25%)
- Must reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding territories)
