About the role
- Provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance
- Be involved in all phases of product life cycles, from proposal development through production implementation
- Ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier’s technical performance meets objectives of quality, cost and schedule
- Drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers
- Initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability
- Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
- Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
- Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
- Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
- Manage non-conforming products
- Drive root cause and corrective action
- Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with and mentor teammates
- Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
- Provide subject matter expertise to team members and suppliers
- Support domestic travel as needed
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Relevant experience is work in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing & quality systems or technical supplier management
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, etc.)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required
- Candidates are expected to travel domestically up to 60% of the time, to include driving up to 300-mile radius with some flying as needed.
