About the role
- Participate in product development activities, execute tests, and produce parts, designs, or sketches following Mechanical Engineering design, safety, and qualification standards
- Support mechanical aspects of development programs from requirements through design, test, and implementation at full-rate production
- Provide technical support to operations teams on programs in production
- Execute tests for systems, sub-systems, and components and perform measurements and instrumentation tasks
- Utilize resources such as wind tunnel, environmental test lab, and forensics investigation lab
- Participate in cost estimates, standard specification implementation, drawing board layout, and development of performance or maintenance requirements
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (preferred)
- Fluency in a Microsoft Office environment
- Basic knowledge of CAD tools (CREO preferred) including both modeling and 2D drawings
- Demonstrated writing and communication skills and ability to work in a cooperative environment
- Demonstrated ability to get hands on, work independently and support all mechanical aspects of a small size project
- Additional technical skills preferred in measurement, instrumentation, and environmental testing
