About the role

  • Lead design and integration of thermal fluid systems (air, vapor, liquid) for high-performance electro-mechanical aircraft systems
  • Define system-level architecture meeting performance, safety, reliability, controllability, installation, and cost criteria
  • Perform analysis across concept, design, modeling, installation, operation, and maintenance phases
  • Decompose customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements
  • Model system architecture to analyze impacts on performance, safety, reliability, controllability, installation, and cost
  • Plan and coordinate activities across systems engineering and collaborate with customers on specifications and testing
  • Apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems
  • Ensure novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools
  • Analyze test results for consistency with performance predictions and compliance to system requirements

Requirements

  • U.S. Person required (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or asylee/refugee)
  • Security Clearance: None/Not Required
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience
  • OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Proven experience in requirements management and decomposition of customer/system-level requirements into sub-system and component-level specifications using tools like IBM DOORS
  • Hands-on expertise with 1-dimensional performance analysis and incorporating 3D dimensional layout constraints into performance analysis
  • Strong background in systems engineering processes and ARP4754 standards
  • Experience designing for physical integration and architecting for controllability, safety, reliability, weight, cost and performance
  • Proficiency in modeling system architectures using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, SysML)
  • Experience with system-level testing, lab and flight test planning and analysis
