About the role
- Lead design and integration of thermal fluid systems (air, vapor, liquid) for high-performance electro-mechanical aircraft systems
- Define system-level architecture meeting performance, safety, reliability, controllability, installation, and cost criteria
- Perform analysis across concept, design, modeling, installation, operation, and maintenance phases
- Decompose customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements
- Model system architecture to analyze impacts on performance, safety, reliability, controllability, installation, and cost
- Plan and coordinate activities across systems engineering and collaborate with customers on specifications and testing
- Apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems
- Ensure novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools
- Analyze test results for consistency with performance predictions and compliance to system requirements
Requirements
- U.S. Person required (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or asylee/refugee)
- Security Clearance: None/Not Required
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience
- OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Proven experience in requirements management and decomposition of customer/system-level requirements into sub-system and component-level specifications using tools like IBM DOORS
- Hands-on expertise with 1-dimensional performance analysis and incorporating 3D dimensional layout constraints into performance analysis
- Strong background in systems engineering processes and ARP4754 standards
- Experience designing for physical integration and architecting for controllability, safety, reliability, weight, cost and performance
- Proficiency in modeling system architectures using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, SysML)
- Experience with system-level testing, lab and flight test planning and analysis
