About the role

  • Support Rocketship schools in Washington DC, fill open spots, and build robust waitlists for prospective students.
  • Work closely with the school’s Office Manager, Enrollment Manager, and Principal to execute recruitment plans and meet goals set by the team.
  • Engage families in dialogue about Rocketship and represent the school to prospective families with professionalism and high customer service.
  • Conduct canvassing, knocking on doors, and community outreach to recruit families.
  • Make phone calls to prospective families, provide enrollment information, and answer questions.
  • Give engaging and informative school tours to prospective families.
  • Assist families with completing MySchoolDC applications and guide them through the enrollment process.
  • Enter, track, and manage prospective family data in CRM systems to support recruitment efforts.
  • Provide feedback to refine recruitment strategies based on community interactions.

Requirements

  • Ability to conduct outreach within specified recruitment areas outlined in the recruitment plan.
  • Knocking on doors and engaging with families
  • Establishing connections with local community groups, businesses, and faith-based organizations
  • Distributing informational materials at community events and high-traffic locations
  • Must be able to conduct phone calls to prospective families, providing information about enrollment opportunities and answering questions regarding Rocketship Public Schools.
  • Ability to give engaging and informative school tours to prospective families
  • Assist families with completing the MySchoolDC (MSDC) application and guide parents through the enrollment process
  • Experience in accurately entering, tracking, and managing prospective family data in a customer relationship management (CRM) system to support ongoing recruitment efforts.
  • Ability to provide on-the-ground insights and feedback to help refine and improve recruitment strategies based on community interactions and outreach effectiveness.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours between 9am-4pm and be able to travel within the designated recruitment areas as needed.
  • May include some weekends

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Strong PC-based computer skills, and ability to learn new computer programs quickly
  • Ability to work in a team as well as follow-through independently to complete tasks as required
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality where required and discretion when involved in sensitive conversations
  • High tolerance for ambiguity, changing work priorities and deadlines, and a willingness to take on responsibilities and prioritize work on multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and resourceful
  • Must have local residency and access to vehicle for reliable transportation.
