About the role
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end import/export processes, ensuring timely movement of client goods across countries and regions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly and professionally addressing client inquiries and concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with smaller ad hoc clients and larger assigned accounts to provide superior logistics service and develop client loyalty.
- Communicate and collaborate with clients and vendors to understand shipping requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Manage relationships with carriers, negotiate rates, and secure optimal shipping options for clients.
- Prepare and process import/export documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
- Coordinate with customs authorities to ensure compliance with import/export regulations and documentation.
- Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements; stay informed on trade regulation changes and industry trends.
- Resolve customs clearance or transportation issues (delays, damages, losses, disputes) to maintain supply chain integrity.
- Evaluate and optimize the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of the shipping process and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with various departments, including finance and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience ideal; no previous logistics experience is required if the candidate has the propensity to grasp operational processes and procedures.
- Enjoy and comfortable working in a customer service role.
- Advanced computer skills including programs such as Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet and Outlook.
- Must be open to change and an advocate for continuous improvement.
- Must be highly organized with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be results-oriented and willing to take ownership of all assigned projects.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Rotation of on-call weekend responsibilities; Core hours 9AM-5PM and schedule fluctuates based on workloads.
