About the role
- Support the client’s compliance assurance program at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
- Provide customer support and complete administrative review actions for human subjects research
- Provide timely and professional customer service to principal investigators, study team members, program managers, approval authorities, and other DHS stakeholders
- Actively monitor a central inbox, prioritize urgent messages, and escalate complex/sensitive issues to appropriate POC
- Update and manage human research protocol files throughout the lifecycle and maintain information management systems tracking protocol review data
- Coordinate active backup of working materials to facilitate review by team members
- Gather, update, and manage information related to protocol reviews
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- BA/BS in a life science, biomedical, or related field
- 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Basic working knowledge of human subjects' protections, regulations, and guidelines
- Experience in maintaining and tracking data and progress of regulatory reviews with ability to organize work assignments
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong skills in MS Office and shared workspaces such as SharePoint and OneDrive
- Must work effectively in a team environment
- Public Trust clearance (required)
- United States citizenship required by government contract
- Preferred: Experience supporting an IRB or human subjects protection office
- Preferred: Experience as a government contractor supporting biomedical or health research programs within DHS or other federal systems
- Preferred: Available to travel locally, regionally, and/or nationally
