Research Analyst

• Conduct comprehensive reviews and evaluations of human subjects research protocol submissions, including amendments, continuing reviews, continuations, and final study reports
• Provide real-time assistance to the development and review of DHS-supported research protocols to ensure regulatory compliance
• Ensure ongoing compliance with Federal, DHS, state, local, and other human subjects protection regulations and guidelines
• Provide regulatory-based written reviews using standardized checklists, identifying deficiencies and areas of noncompliance
• Support DHS HRPG Lead Analyst and federal staff in analyzing complex regulatory and ethical issues and prepare administrative support for reporting recommendations to executive management
• Actively manage and update protocol files and information management systems related to protocol review
• Work with senior scientists as part of a Human Research Protection Group (HRPG) team

Research Analyst – Human Subjects Research

• Support the client’s compliance assurance program at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
• Provide customer support and complete administrative review actions for human subjects research
• Provide timely and professional customer service to principal investigators, study team members, program managers, approval authorities, and other DHS stakeholders
• Actively monitor a central inbox, prioritize urgent messages, and escalate complex/sensitive issues to appropriate POC
• Update and manage human research protocol files throughout the lifecycle and maintain information management systems tracking protocol review data
• Coordinate active backup of working materials to facilitate review by team members
• Gather, update, and manage information related to protocol reviews
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Research Specialist, Human Subjects Research

Data Scientist

• Lead and manage data science, modeling, and AI projects supporting government health and science contracts
• Develop detailed project plans and manage scope, schedule, and costs for evaluation studies
• Supervise and mentor cross-disciplinary teams of data scientists and evaluation specialists
• Design and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms, including NLP and LLM applications
• Provide technical advice on research design, analytical techniques, and sampling methods
• Develop coding frameworks using NVivo, R, or other coding platforms and aggregate coded comment data to surface themes
• Extract, transform, and validate health data from multiple sources; ensure data quality and integrity
• Develop client reports, present findings to decision-makers, and maintain progress reports in electronic databases
• Create training materials, co-lead trainings, and develop/revise SOPs and process documentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to proposal writing and technical solutioning
