About the role
- Perform standards essential patent activities (3GPP and O-RAN Alliance)
- Construct intellectual property portfolio for mobile communications networks and mobile terminals (mainly patents)
- Extract inventions from development activities for patent filing and prosecution
- Conduct patent analysis in licensing activities
- Perform intellectual property clearance in the relevant fields
- Review contracts and handle licensing in the relevant fields
- Formulate intellectual property strategy
- Coordinate many intellectual property activities related to foreign subsidiaries
- Frequently use English in internal and external meetings and present IP updates at company-wide conferences
- Work closely with company executives and cross-functional development teams to establish IP activities from scratch
Requirements
- Experience in Patent Filing and Prosecution
- TOEIC score 600 (or higher) equivalent
- Experience in patent filing and prosecution or copyright protection in the field of server virtualization or network virtualization (desired)
- Engineer experience in telecommunications networks or mobile terminals (desired)
- Experience in intellectual property clearance (desired)
- Experience in intellectual property contracts or licensing (desired)
- Qualified lawyer / patent attorney / patent agent (desired)
- Certified Specialist of Intellectual Property Management (1st grade) (desired)
- TOEIC score 800 (or higher) equivalent (desired)
- Business-level English (speaking and listening comprehension desirable) (desired)
- Experience living in an English-speaking country; TOEFL/IELTS/EIKEN results preferred (desired)
- Business-level Japanese (desired)
