About the role
- Help patients check into the Outpatient Registration Department and intake information
- Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment
- Work across multiple screens collecting details that must be input correctly between physician and nurse check-ins
- Listen with compassion, ask follow-up questions, and build rapport with patients to address fears, concerns, and questions
- Type and answer phones while multitasking and working across multiple programs
- Handle interruptions from clinicians for emergent clinical care
- Assist patients in completing their registration and collect patient and insurance information
- Work quickly in a fast-paced environment and expect the unexpected
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service experience
- You don’t need to have any previous experience or knowledge in healthcare.
- Be a confident multi-tasker who is a quick study with technology and can type and answer phones
- Comfortable working across multiple programs and typing as quickly as patients can talk
- Prepared to see illness and injuries (hospital/lab environment)
- Must be up to date on all vaccinations
- Must pass a drug test prior to hire
- Must pass a background check prior to hire
