About the role
- Support Director of Planning and Performance in driving budget execution and process improvement.
- Review and reconcile quarterly plans submitted by managers with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Analyze forecasted spending versus Manager’s Quarterly Plan and the AOP; identify and report discrepancies.
- Manage budget transfers with marketers; ensure adjustments are documented, approved, and reflected in records.
- Provide support on purchase requisitions (PRs), purchase orders (POs), and invoice processing.
- Review accruals against forecasts to keep actual expenses within +/- 2% of the AOP and coordinate with finance to adjust accruals.
- Support postmortem analysis after fiscal periods to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities.
- Implement process improvements and establish a Centre of Excellence cadence.
- Identify and deliver key training opportunities for the Marketing organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Marketing Operations with a focus on budget management, financial processes.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in financial management software (e.g. Allocadia, Netsuite, SAP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with marketing operations and budget management processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of budget reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Experience with accrual accounting and variance analysis.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
