About the role

  • Support Director of Planning and Performance in driving budget execution and process improvement.
  • Review and reconcile quarterly plans submitted by managers with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Analyze forecasted spending versus Manager’s Quarterly Plan and the AOP; identify and report discrepancies.
  • Manage budget transfers with marketers; ensure adjustments are documented, approved, and reflected in records.
  • Provide support on purchase requisitions (PRs), purchase orders (POs), and invoice processing.
  • Review accruals against forecasts to keep actual expenses within +/- 2% of the AOP and coordinate with finance to adjust accruals.
  • Support postmortem analysis after fiscal periods to identify lessons learned and improvement opportunities.
  • Implement process improvements and establish a Centre of Excellence cadence.
  • Identify and deliver key training opportunities for the Marketing organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Marketing Operations with a focus on budget management, financial processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g. Allocadia, Netsuite, SAP).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with marketing operations and budget management processes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of budget reconciliation and financial reporting.
  • Experience with accrual accounting and variance analysis.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
