About the role
- Supports and maintains all endpoint management platforms, policy creation, and asset management.
- Provides escalation to desktop support staff and engages vendors as needed to resolve complex end user issues.
- Supports management systems and platforms to configure, build, manage, secure, and enforce policy for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Creates controls and processes for managing desktop operating systems to align with security policies.
- Manages purchasing of laptops, desktops, software, and peripherals across asset lifecycle management.
- Acts as final escalation in troubleshooting and support of PCs, software applications, VPN, network connections, and passwords.
- Provides support in person, via email, phone, or remotely and responds to inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Assists in account creation and provisioning of access for various systems.
- Trains new IT employees in support of PC, primary applications, email, network, virus protection, printers, phone system, fax system, and PC maintenance procedures.
- Keeps abreast of new technology, testing and making recommendations and assisting in implementation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent in configuring and supporting platforms that manage operating systems and end user hardware.
- Master in managing MS Office applications and policies.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
- Expertise in supporting VPN and basic network connections.
- Expertise in PC components and able to perform all levels of repairs.
- Familiarity with voice over IP (VOIP) phone system.
- Experience creating and implementing group policies.
- Experience creating and supporting distributed file system (DFS).
- Experience with Antivirus, data loss prevention (DLP), and endpoint detection/response (EDR) policies.
- Outstanding problem solving, troubleshooting, and reasoning skills.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to keep accurate records and documentation.
- Excellent people skills; active listener and professional/courteous interaction.
- Ability to train and teach other IT employees.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Associate’s degree in computer science required (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 5+ years of experience supporting End User hardware and software in an Enterprise environment.
- Must be able to be in the office (Wooster, OH) at least 2 days a week.
- Must be able to participate in on call/after hours rotation (once every 5-6 weeks).
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.
