About the role
- The Chemical Sales Specialist manages and directs chemical sales efforts within the respective territory to achieve market share gains.
- This position serves as an expert in selling chemicals and representing POOLCORP chemical brands.
- Identifies customers to profitably grow their businesses and provides education and support on chemical products and technology.
- Identifies target accounts within market served and is lead account manager for all chemical targets.
- Provides training to sales staff on chemical product knowledge.
- Works with outside sales reps (BDR’s), Branch and Regional Managers to grow the branch business.
- Identifies and qualifies all potential chemical accounts in territory.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
- Conducts presentations to customers on chemical products and programs.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing relationships with chemical customers.
- Solid knowledge of pool products and chemicals.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with proven ability to convert customers to a new product line.
- Familiarity with technology tools such as AMP or similar customer management system preferred.
- Holds a valid driver’s license, a “satisfactory” driving record (no more than 2 violations within 3 years).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
