About the role
- Serve as senior-level project manager on the most complex engineering projects for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC)
- Independently direct multiple projects and/or programs and manage full lifecycle of multiple complex projects
- Provide direction and oversight to lower-level engineering staff and consultants including supervision, performance management, delegation, and review of work product
- Serve as primary project manager for development and administration of complex traffic, facilities, design, and/or construction projects
- Develop scope of work, participate in consultant selection, and manage plans, specifications, standards, and cost estimates
- Develop and manage project scheduling, cash flow projections, and compliance activities
- Perform field investigations, reviews, and surveys to ensure adherence to standards and specifications
- Identify and resolve potential problems; review and approve plans, specifications, studies, invoices, and estimates
- Maintain liaison with internal/external staff, consultants, governmental and transportation agencies; meet with property owners and agencies
- Prepare and review detailed reports, documents, and recommendations; attend meetings and represent PTC in committees and trainings
- Participate in traffic and safety surveys and manage various PTC engineering programs
- Apply broad engineering principles and use situational awareness to anticipate and prevent accidents
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
- E-6: Possession of a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers
- Possession of a valid driver’s license; must obtain and maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within six (6) months of employment
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the Commission will not sponsor applicants for work visas
- Certain units may prefer a bachelor’s degree in a specific engineering discipline
