About the role

  • Provide power engineering services to prepare electrical engineering design packages for power system facilities and renewable energy developments
  • Work under the supervision of Project Managers or other staff for assigned projects to produce electrical engineering designs and provide input to senior engineering staff on design issues
  • Use professional judgement to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs; responsible for completion of tasks but not authorized to sign/seal completed plans
  • Actively assist the Project Manager and assign tasks and schedules to Project Engineers I and II and project team members; answer questions and monitor progress
  • Check the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff
  • Assist the client in bidding or contractor selection if authorized by the Project Manager
  • Monitor construction and supervise field personnel assigned to tasks, data collection or a specific project; respond to contractor questions and prepare and issue project addendum as needed
  • Recommend and prepare change orders for the Project Manager’s review; participate in creation of engineering services proposals including calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs
  • Provide technical and project leadership to direct activities of assigned professional and technical staff members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or related technical field
  • Minimum of seven years of professional electrical engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification in one or more states is required; within one year of employment must meet requirements to be eligible to take the PE
  • Working knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with CADD software, modeling, design, and/or analysis software preferred
  • Experience with Power System economic evaluations
  • Ability to multi-task and function while working in either a team or individual environment
  • Strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and ability to read and interpret technical literature and engineering plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
