About the role
- Prepare design calculations, design drawings, and specifications for economical construction
- Seal drawings and reports as required
- Perform independent studies and prepare reports of results and conclusions
- Direct other engineers and technicians and review their results
- Present and deliver final reports to clients
- Maintain knowledge of accepted engineering design standards and practices
- Coordinate work of drafting personnel, technicians, or other engineers
- Keep tasks within schedule and budget
- Provide input and coordination with other departments
- Provide data for cost estimating and secure preliminary equipment costs
- Investigate and implement new methods and procedures
- Serve as Project Manager for projects within own group and coordinate with other groups and client
- Participate in professional organizations and assist in client relationship development
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience including work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering techniques
- Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience
- B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or relevant field required
- South Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to become licensed in S C within 6 months
- Must be prepared to undertake independent action
