About the role

  • Prepare design calculations, design drawings, and specifications for economical construction
  • Seal drawings and reports as required
  • Perform independent studies and prepare reports of results and conclusions
  • Direct other engineers and technicians and review their results
  • Present and deliver final reports to clients
  • Maintain knowledge of accepted engineering design standards and practices
  • Coordinate work of drafting personnel, technicians, or other engineers
  • Keep tasks within schedule and budget
  • Provide input and coordination with other departments
  • Provide data for cost estimating and secure preliminary equipment costs
  • Investigate and implement new methods and procedures
  • Serve as Project Manager for projects within own group and coordinate with other groups and client
  • Participate in professional organizations and assist in client relationship development

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience including work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering techniques
  • Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience
  • B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or relevant field required
  • South Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to become licensed in S C within 6 months
  • Must be prepared to undertake independent action
