About the role

  • Serve as primary sales contact and trusted business advisor to executive suites at assigned enterprise accounts
  • Develop and orchestrate sales strategy to maximize revenue and set strategic vision for accounts
  • Work with internal teams to ensure accounts are serviced per contract and engage Professional Services Team to scope and deploy services
  • Drive revenue growth in current and future business models; create and execute effective sales plans
  • Develop political maps and deep understanding of customer critical success factors to act as consulting partner for client C-suite
  • Evaluate enterprise opportunities with Professional Services Team using qualitative and quantitative criteria
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts; represent Pearson suite of enterprise products and services and co-create business solutions
  • Stay current on Higher Education sector issues and state-wide legislative issues within territory
  • Build relationships at program level aimed at account growth through programmatic solutions
  • Provide executive sales leadership, foster environment to attract and retain sales talent, train teams on planning and territory management

Requirements

  • Exceptional written, oral and presentation skills
  • Experience working through and executing against P&L exercises
  • Demonstrated understanding of the higher education/career school market through experience selling complex solutions in the higher education market
  • Proficient in sales reporting and project management tools and confidence using data analytics, financial and business reporting tools
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, strong communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with business partners
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an effective team with shared ownership of C-suite customer roles with the Professional Services Team
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with ideally five years in a service-oriented consulting or strategic/selling account management role serving Higher Education and five years in increasingly successful sales achievement
  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and successful work experience; MBA desirable
