Cross functionally develops and successfully executes a multi-year strategy that accelerates our business in the region
Develop & lead the implementation of our annual sales plan for the Western Region that achieves depletions, distribution, sales & distributor revenue, and shipment goals
Develop and implement distributor programs based on overall brand initiatives
Provide direction, coaching, training, and high-level management to four direct reports across multiple states in the Western region
Control's Divisional P&L to ensure annual profit targets are achieved
Increase efficiency of the Western Division by implementing processes and procedures that maximize return on sales investment
Set and clearly communicate quarterly strategic priorities that support goal attainment
Create a sense of urgency within the team to deliver the plan and hold each team member accountable for performance
Monitor the regional sales climate and be the subject matter expert on localized trends and developments as it relates to competitive actions, future growth, and new sales development ideas
Ensure strict adherence to price strategies and look for opportunities to optimize profit
Lead, direct and develop a best-in-class sales team and champion company culture
Work collaboratively with new Distributor partner, Republic National Distributor Company
Travel up to 60% of the time as required
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
Leadership capabilities to recruit, train, develop and motivate the key accounts team
Must have the ability to interact with and present to buyers and key distributor personnel
Knowledge of and the ability to dissect consumer data such as IRI or AC Nielsen for the purpose of gaining a better understanding of business opportunities and developing presentations
Superior organizational skills, detail oriented, must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and in a dynamic, high energy, team-oriented atmosphere
Must be a proven sales leader in retail with customer headquarters call experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in wine & spirits sales with proven results
Must have a history of achieving sales growth, profit, and volume
Must be detailed, organized, persuasive, and can multi-task while maintaining a high level of customer service and responsiveness to immediate demands
Strong communication & negotiation skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Ability to build compelling and creative sales presentations with Sales, Marketing, and Consumer Insights; provide features and benefits
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects
Knowledge of consumer/shopper behavior in Western Division business by premise type
Knowledge of retail category management concepts
Must have a high level of wine knowledge
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
