About the role
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including new hires, terminations, and status changes
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll tax laws and regulations
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries, providing clear and helpful information
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within our HRIS, Rippling
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and collaborate with our finance department to ensure accurate billing and deductions
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including T4 and RL-1 preparation and reporting
- Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll and benefits legislation to ensure continuous compliance
- Generate and analyze payroll and benefits reports as needed for management
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar payroll or benefits administration role
- Experience with ADP is a plus
- College diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is a strong asset
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, including regulations for Quebec (CNESST)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Experience with HRIS and payroll software (Rippling experience preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Bilingualism in French and English (written and verbal) required
