About the role

Working hours Monday – Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm Eastern; Full-time position with rotating on call schedule; 100% onsite at client sites in Boston, MA; Act as hotel IT engineer for applications, systems, infrastructure; Represent NexusTek at assigned hotel(s) delivering customer service; Meet with hotel management to discuss issues, projects, budgetary items; Be part of Hotel Management team; Consult with customers on technical support issues and specification of software/equipment; Make independent decisions and recommendations; Create VLANs, port assignments, wireless network design; Manage and troubleshoot Internet service; Perform switching, firewall, wireless configuration and troubleshooting; Install/configure/troubleshoot routers, firewalls, wireless, servers, virtualization, storage, domain controllers, file/print/app/remote access servers; Manage Microsoft 365 and Entra and local Active Directory; Troubleshoot hotel-specific systems and manage PMS interfaces and DB administration; Create/manage technical site documentation; Provide server/file restoration from backups; Work with hotel engineering staff for UPS/generator testing; Lift/cable/run wires and load equipment

Proactive and independent IT technical expert; Onsite presence and representation for IT services; Meet with hotel management team; Exercise discretion and independent judgement; Create VLANs, port assignments, wireless network design; Manage and troubleshoot Internet service, switching, firewalls, wireless; Install, configure, troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, routers, firewalls, wireless solutions; Experience with cloud-based networking, virtual networks, virtual firewalls; Experience with Microsoft and VMware hypervisors; Experience with storage systems including iSCSI and fiber; Manage Microsoft 365 and Entra; Manage local Active Directory; Troubleshoot hotel systems and applications (PMS, POS, Key, Central Reservations, Credit Cards, Energy Management); Create and manage technical site documentation; Perform file/server restoration from backups; Lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks; Advanced knowledge: Microsoft Server 2012 – present, Workstation/server hardware, Printers and scanners, Routers, switches, firewalls, Cloud and virtualization, Office 365, Azure IaaS and Azure Virtual Desktop, Email Spam Security, Modern File projects, Microsoft Windows 2012 – present, Microsoft Exchange 2010 – present; Wireshark, NMAP and SNMP monitoring tools desirable; Mastery of Microsoft Visio desirable; Knowledge of VoIP and UC deployments; Hospitality applications experience preferred; PCI Compliance; Advanced understanding of DHCP, DNS, and IP protocols
