About the role
- Work with a broad group of engineering teams, internal and external partners, and creative teams to design, develop, implement, and support a broad collection of technology solutions for content creation at Netflix.
- Design and build services to improve experiences and productivity for a broad range of content creative populations (e.g. post-production, animation, visual effects, etc.).
- Work in a uniquely challenging global infrastructure space with challenges far larger than almost any other studio in the world.
- Empowered to build and develop new solutions to long-standing entertainment industry challenges.
- Develop, script, and automate solutions to improve the efficiency and functionality of our production systems.
- Deploy these solutions and ensure their successful integration within the existing system architecture.
- Participate in system upgrades and migrations, as well as troubleshooting tasks to maintain optimal system performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building and developing compute, storage, and connectivity tooling to deliver product experiences for end-users.
- Ability to dissect large complex systems into sub-components, understanding each component’s additive value to the overall solution and optimizing them both individually and collectively.
- Passion for automation, efficiency and scale; consistently driving operational excellence.
- Deep technical understanding of large-scale computing infrastructure; operating systems; high-performance storage file, block, and object storage technologies; scaled networking challenges; or any of the above.
- Effective collaboration with business and product teams to develop product plans and roadmaps and then own parts of the hands-on implementation of those plans.
- Thrive in identifying high-leverage, high-value work and direct your attention to those opportunities without explicit direction.
- Aim to always be learning new things, working in new spaces, and share this passion with those around you.
- Use data-driven strategies, applying thorough analytics and real-time insights for strategic and operational decisions.
- Strong adherence to observability principles, promoting transparent, measurable outcomes to improve performance and accountability in all projects.
