Focusing on the 3Cs of Character, Camera, and Controls, the person in this role will work closely with designers, animators, and other engineers on system prototyping and implementation, ensuring the systems built meet the project code standards.
Develop and implement systems in engine in a multiplayer environment, using C++ and Blueprints.
Communicate and collaborate across departments as it pertains to 3Cs systems: work closely with gameplay design and engineers, as well as production in managing the prioritization, implementation, and scope of the game’s systems as they pertain to camera, controls and character.
Follow the code quality standards set by the team.
Collaborate across disciplines in achieving the overall vision of the game.
Solicit and incorporate feedback from team members regarding existing systems.
Requirements
Proven success in creating compelling and innovative 3Cs systems in AAA 3rd person, multiplayer games.
Thorough understanding of core 3C concepts such as camera behaviors, state machines, character movement systems, animations, and controls accessibility, and how to implement them in a multiplayer game to achieve the highest fidelity for all clients.
Extensive knowledge of current game titles, as well as movies and other visual arts, to use as reference for crafting and communicating original ideas.
The ability to communicate fluently with engineering, art, narrative and production.
